ABOUT

Spring is here, which means it’s time to CELEBRATE FARM TO FORK!

Join us on Saturday, May 20th (from 12-6pm) at Christie Pits Park when the Toronto Non-GMO Coalition and the David Suzuki Foundation present CELEBRATE FARM TO FORK: Toronto’s 4th Annual GMO-free Festival & Farmers’ Market!

The phrase FARM TO FORK means many things: knowing where your food comes from; accessing clean, nutritious food; supporting local farms and businesses; and getting back to our roots. All very important items for our health and environment!

Featuring well-researched speakers and dozens of quality vendors from Toronto’s non-GMO/organic, environmental and food justice communities, our CELEBRATE FARM TO FORK festival’s primary goal is to create awareness re: the health concerns related to genetically modified foods and the impact of industrial agriculture on our pollinators and climate.

Not only will you learn where your food comes from and how it is produced, but CELEBRATE FARM TO FORK will energize Christie Pits with great music, kid-friendly activities and you’ll enjoy the most delicious, sustainably produced food and drink in Ontario!

FAQ

How much is admission?  Are there tickets for the event?

Admission is FREE to the public; however, as the festival is a fundraiser for the Coalition, your donation is most definitely appreciated. If you would like to donate, please click HERE. Every dollar goes a long way to help cover costs associated with producing the festival, future Coalition events and allows us to continue important educational work.

Is all of the food at the festival completely non-GMO?

Yes! When we started this festival in 2014, the food was required to be non-GMO.  However, sustainable agroecology and safe food matters to us! Therefore, we have made it a requirement that all food and beverage sold at the festival be free of GMOs, pesticides, hormones, antibiotics and synthetic fertilizers. Additionally, many of our vendors offer vegan, gluten-free and nut-free fare. All meat products come from pasture-raised, humanely-treated animals.

Absolutely! CELEBRATE FARM TO FORK is a festival for all ages! There will be family activities and entertainment. Strollers are welcome in Christie Pits Park and there is a playground on site. For guests who are 19+, we are hoping to have a beer/wine garden on site. Proper identification will be required.

What to bring/not to bring?

Blankets, backpacks, cameras are welcomed at the event. While it is a Toronto city park, we discourage your bringing outdoor food into the park. Many of our vendors accept debit/credit cards; however, we suggest that you bring plenty of extra CASH.
